Storage Tips

Gather all the boxes, bubble wrap and tape you will need before getting started so you don't run out.

Ballard Mini Storage offers all moving and packing supplies you need.

Disassemble larger items such as tables and bed frames. Put all hardware in bags and mark the bags

accordingly. Use small colored stickers to easily match electronics and their cords. Keep similar items

BOX IT UP

Individually wrap items before placing them in boxes. Use paper or peanuts to avoid shifting. When

possible, use storage containers and boxes which are specifically designed for what you will be storing.

Think of mirror boxes for mirrors and picture frames, wardrobe   boxes to hang your clothing, and storage

bins for ornaments. Label each box on all sides and keep a list for easy reference. Consider using mattress

bags to protect mattresses and box springs and furniture covers to cover chairs and sofas.

To make everything easy to carry, use the small boxes to store the heavier items, and larger boxes for

lighter things. Also, stack lighter boxes on top of heavier ones. Rubber containers are great to store your

items, as they have tight fitting lids and stack easily.

SAVE ROOM

Leave a small aisle in the center of your storage unit so you can easily access your items near the back.

When possible, store mattresses, mirrors and couches on end, and stack chairs.

**Common sense and state laws determine what may be stored.

You alone control access to your storage space; therefore, never store:

live animals, perishables, liquids, explosives, flammable liquids and fuels, toxic materials

or other items that need a controlled environment.**
